BIS Tutorial Trips

BIS offers its students a wide range of age-appropriate school trips. In Preschool, pupils take part in many educational excursions in the neighbourhood close to the school site. Younger children visit local farms, the nearby forest, shops, parks and museums to contribute to their education. Primary school pupils visit places in Istanbul to compare and contrast. For example, they visit a local farm and countryside near the sea to support their history and geography studies. Our students' art studies are supported by visits to museums, galleries and mosques in the city. In addition, our residential trips start in Grade 4. Our students are encouraged to develop their personal, social, health and emotional skills by participating in these trips. These trips are the first opportunity for our students to gain independence, which is a long process. Some of our overnight trips include a ski trip to Bulgaria, camping by the sea, Space Camp and a trip to Cappadocia. 

Our subject-specific trips start after Primary School and aim to contribute to the learning experience of our students. In addition, during Travel Week in the first week of October every year, our students participate in overnight trips to many different locations, usually within Turkey. These trips are of great importance in terms of continuing our tradition of out-of-class education that started in Primary School. In addition, our Modern Languages Department also organises annual trips to France and Spain, giving our students the opportunity to contribute to their developing language skills. 

In addition, we organise many sports-based school trips where we compete with local schools and even with schools from other countries in international events such as the annual COBIS Games. During these 4-day trips, we are also active in Model United Nations where our students have the opportunity to meet their peers both in Turkey and in other countries.
